Social Welfare and Cooperation Minister Smt. Nemcha Kipgen today chaired a review meeting of Social Welfare department in collaboration with the Joint Secretary, Ministry of Women and Child Development (WCD), Government of India Dr. Rajesh Kumar, IAS.
While addressing the gatherings, Minister Nemcha draws the attention of all the officials and staff present and urged them to contribute positive ideas to boost the department to efficiently implement various schemes and programmes for the welfare of all the beneficiaries.
During the review meeting, various important schemes under the Ministry of Women and Child Development (WCD) were highlighted and discussed thoroughly. Some of the topics discussed through a series of slides includes ICDS Schemes, Wheat Based Nutrition Programme (WBNP), ICDS Training including E-learning job training courses for CDPOs, Supervisors and AWWs, Pradhan Mantri Mantru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY), Scheme for Adolescent Girls (SAG), National Creche Scheme (NCS), Integrated Child Protection Scheme (ICPS), One Stop Centre (OSC) and Universalization of Women Helpline (181) scheme, Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), to name some.
The meeting also highlighted the importance for timely Aadhaar enrolment of children. As such, Aadhaar Enrolment camps should be organised at least twice a year in every Anganwadi centre to ensure that every new child beneficiary joining AWC has Aadhaar.
The meeting was held at the Old Secretariat Conference Hall in presence of Shri H. Dileep Singh, IAS, Commissioner (Social Welfare), Smt Jacintha Lazarus, IAS, Director (Social Welfare), Smt Surrender A. Shishak (Joint Director), Deputy Directors and officials of the department. (DIPR).
