Teachers of Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) has launched its strike today by locking the gate of the office of the education director demanding to clear their seven months pending salary.
The teachers yesterday decided to launch pen down strike from today to protest non-payment of salary for about 8 months.
President of RMSA Graduate Teachers’ Association N Prakasana said teachers under RMSA are not getting their monthly salary since November last year.
“How can we survive? How can I teach properly when the brain is so disturbed? We were happy when we were slected on merit. Now we are suffering”, said a teacher to Pothashang.
The teachers had also taken out a rally on June 8 last.
Teachers representatives had met chief minister and education minister .They were assured of releasing their pending salary within June. However, no positive response has been coming from the government so far, Prakasana said .
Ther teachers went to meet the director, RMSA, the office was found locked due to flood . We were compelled to launch pen-down stir, said Prakasana.
There are many RMSA teachers who are posted in interior areas where there is no teachers’ quarters.The woes of these teachers increased manifold due to non-payment of salary since November last year, added the teacher’s representative.
While the salaries remain pending for many months the edcation department on may 11 notified for recruitment of graduate teachers under RMSA.
