Union Human Resource Development Minister Shri Prakash Javadekar presided a review meeting to uplift the education sector of the State at the Cabinet Hall of Chief Minister’s Secretariat yestreday.
Chief Minister Shri N. Biren Singh, Education Minister Shri Th. Radheshyam, two Joint Secretaries of Central Government, Principal Secretary (Education-S), Commissioner (Higher and Technical Education), Directors of Education (S) and Higher and Technical Education and officials of the Education department were present at the review meeting.
The meeting mainly discussed the matters like induction of capable and efficient persons as teachers, manpower status, transfer and posting of teachers etc.
Shri Prakash Javadekar, while speaking at meeting said that bringing quality should be the main motive behind any endeavour in the education sector. Instead of giving rhetoric speeches and resorting to blame games, the Government should focus to translating people’s wishes into action.
Stating that people always want to see progress, good governance and corruption-free administration, Shri Javadekar asked the State Government not to disappoint people.
As education is the backbone of every progress, there is need for enhancing the education system, he observed. The Union Minister further said that the main objective of holding the review meeting is to discuss and finalise the action plan towards this end.
During the meeting, the Minister also asserted no political interference must be there in the selection of location for the establishment of any educational institute.
