Education Minister Shri Th. Radheshyam today announced the High School Leaving Certificate Examination, (HSLC), 2017, at Board of Secondary Education Manipur, (BOSEM) Babupara. The pass percentage of this year’s HSLC examination has been recorded 66.70 %. This is higher than the last year’s record of 65.37%.
Out of 34,829 students appeared for the examination altogether 23,232 students passed the HSLC Examination, 2017. The number of students enrolled was recorded 35,149 in total. The number of students passing the HSLC Examination, 2017 categorically on regular and external basis records 11,295 out of 15,546 and 630 out of 1645 for male students, while for the girl students passing is 10,472 out of 15,511 and 835 out of 2127 appeared respectively. Overall 17,191 male and 17,638 female sat for the exam.
According to school wise affiliation, the government schools witnessed 45.70 % with 3445 students passing the exam out of 7539. The aided schools have in its account 51.15 % numbering 913 successful students out of 1785. While the private schools record 74.00 % with 18,874 out of 25,505. Division wise 8641 students got first division out of which 4345 is male while 4296 is female. In second division 7016 male and 6484 female totalling to 13500 passed the exam. 564 male with 527 female passed in third division numbering 1091.
For district wise, Thoubal & Kakching surpassed rest of the district with highest passing percentage recording 79.82% with 4940 students passing the exam out of 6189. While the lowest passed percentage is held by Imphal East & Jiribam District with 59.38 % in which 2984 students cleared the exam out of 5025 students.
Th. Radheshyam congratulated the students who passed the HSLC Examination, 2017 and urged the people to give the best support to those students who due to some inadequacy couldn’t get through the exam. There is no failure in life but just another lesson of life to be learnt, he added. He also said the government will try the best to improve the performance of Education Department as well as in terms of the quality of the education imparted in the government schools in the coming years.
In the HSLC Examination, 2017 result declaration programme Parliamentary Secretary Education K. Robindro, Principal Secretary (Edn-S) and also the Chairman (BOSEM) Vineet Joshi and officials of BOSEM also attended.
