One Assam Rifles Jawan was killed and two others were injured in an IED blast at an AR check post at Lambui village in Ukhrul this morning.
The blast was triggered at around 7: 20 at the security checking point of Ramva Assam Rifles Post (27 AR) under Shangshak Police Station of Ukhrul district.
The dead jawan was identified as Biju Sorupuwar village of Lakhimpur, Assam. Both his legs and his right hand were cut off .
The two injured jawans were identified as Yash Pal from Hajalta village of Udhampur district, Jammu and Kasmir, and Nihar Ranjan Das from Gopea village, Odhisha.
Both the injured Jawans were taken to Leimakhong military hospital by chopper and they were said to be in critical conditions.
The area has been cordoned by the security forces and no civilian access is allowed.
The AR check point was totally collapsed, says the source.

Assam Rifles in a press statement released stated that the two injured Jawans are out of danger and they suffered suffered from minor injury.
The press note said in continuation of the highest traditions of the security forces, rifleman Biju Sorupuwar of 27 Assam Rifles made the supreme sacrifice in a dastardly act by insurgents at Lambui in Ukhrul Dist Manipur. Biju is a resident of Lakhimpur District, Assam and is survived by his wife and two children. His valiant efforts and sacrifice will not go in vain.
Rifleman Biju Sorupuwar was part of the Permanent Vehicle Check Post of 27 AR at Lambui Junction when it came under an IED attack at 0705 hrs. In this incident, the Jawangot martyred and two other Jawans suffered minor injuries. Their condition is stable and the are out of danger.
