Tangkhul Naga Long demands to roll back newly created districts

The Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) has appealed the chief minister of Manipur to roll back the newly created seven districts of Manipur by the previous government last year.
In memorandum submitted today by the TNL during chief minister Nongthombam Biren Singh at Ukhrul it was stated that the government of India and the NSCN has signed the framework agreement answering the prayers and yearning of the Naga People for the last to end the protracted war between the government of India and Naga where thousands of lives have been lost. Every citizen looks forward to a final solution at the earliest, added the memorandum.
The TNL appealed the government of Manipur to recognise and honour the legitimate rights of the Naga to integrate all contiguous Naga areas and to extend all possible support towards expending the ongoing peace process and solution of the long drawn Indo-Naga political imbroglio in the interest of all concerned.
The Naga organisation appealed to roll back the newly created districts by the Okram Ibobi led government without affecting to the memorandum of understanding signed between the state government and the Naga organisations, besides the assurance given by the government of India in this regard and above all the executive order of the previous government has violated the constitution of India under Article 371 (C).
It also requested to review the state cabinet’s recent decision to militarise the Naga areas on the pretext of National Highway protection.
