Deputy chief minister Yumnam Joykumar Singh today launched a four day long National Mathematics Day celebration at at Indoor Stadium, Oriental College, Takyelpat in Imphal.
Joykumar said that systematic approach in teaching and learning is very much important in bringing quality education in the State. Three basic steps as Learning, Understanding and Application are necessary to bring quality education. Applying such a valuable approach will definitely help the students toremember what they learnt and make it easy to apply it wherever necessary, eventually a fruitful career in their lives, added the deputy CM.
Saying that by organising such a celebration would bring a change in the mind-sets, especially to the budding talents to acknowledge the importance of Mathematics and to infuse and ignite them, Joykumar assured to extend all possible help by the government to make the celebration a grand success.
A series of programmes will be organised in the four daylongcelebration which is jointly organised by MASTEC and Department of Mathematics, Oriental College (Autonomous), Imphal. Around 400 students from various institutions across the state will take part in various competitions.
