Communist Party of India (CPI), Manipur State Council has urged the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to disclose the contents in the framework agreement signed between the NSCN IM and the government of India.
The CPI unit had submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister yesterday to give clarification on the claim made by NSCN (IM) general secretary Th. Muivah that the agreement recognises Naga integration.
The memorandum stated that it was quite contrary to the statement of Modi that assured the integrity of Manipur during his election campaign in Imphal for the recently concluded Manipur Legislative Assembly election.
All Manipur Muslim Organisations and Co-ordinating Committee, AMMOCOC has also demanded to disclose the framework agreement signed in 2015 between the Naga outfit and the government of India. It has cautioned the government of India that the organisation will launch series of intensive agitations if the points of agreement in the framework are not disclosed.
AMMOCOC trongly condemned the claim of NSCN (IM) leader Th. Muivah that the Framework Agreement signed between the outfit and the Government of India recognises the ‘demand’ to integrate all Naga inhabited areas.
AMMOCOC also demanded that a bill to protect the indigenous people of the State be introduced at the earliest and enact it at the earliest. In pursuit of the two demands an 18 hour Manipur bandh have been imposed from yesterday midnight till 6 pm today.
