Director General Assam Rifles visits Manipur

Lieutenant General Shokin Chauhan, AVSM, YSM, SM, VSM, Director General Assam Rifles, visited Manipur on a two day visit on March 3.
During his visit to the state the DGAR visited Moreh, Chandel, Tengnoupal and was briefed by the respective Commandants on the security of Integrated Check Posts (ICPs) and prevailing security situation in their respective areas of responsibilities of the battalion. The DGAR reviewed the operational preparedness of battalions during his visit and appreciated the endeavours of security forces.
He also visited HQ 26 Sector Assam Rifles, Pallel and was briefed by Commander 26 & 28 Sector Assam Rifles on security arrangement and law and order situation keeping in view the elections said a statement released by the AR.
The DGAR also interacted with editors and senior reporters of the state. He also greeted the people of Manipur ahead of Yaosang (Holi) celebration on 12 Mar and wished that the festival would bring in joy and prosperity.
