At least seven demonstrators including three women were injured today in police action at Senapati district town while the agitators stormed towards the districts mini secretariat.
As a part of the United Naga Council’s picketing of government office in all Naga inhabited areas from December 31 midnight to protest against the creation of seven new districts on December 8.
There has been imposition of CrPC 144 in Senapati, Ukhrul and Kangpokpi following the announcement of picketing government establishments by the UNC.
There were tussles between the police force and the agitators when they tried to storm towards the secretariat. Police fired tear gas shells and in the tussle seven of the agitators were injured. They were taken to the hospitals. Two of them were seriously injured says a source
