Polio immunisation programme was initiated today under the supervision of Family Welfare Services and State health Society, Manipur with its inaugural function held at premise of Family Welfare Services office in Imphal.
The immunisation mission was targeted to administer through 3585 booths throughout the state for today and the organisers will conduct a two days house to house campaign.
A total of 4, 55, 280 doses to cover a target of 3, 58, 474 children have been provided by the ministry of health services, government of India.
The services of 14,340 volunteers of Asha, Anganwadi, nursing students, and other voluntary organisations were in for the mass pulse polio administration.
About 717 supervisors were engaged to check the procedures. Last year, polio drops were administered at 3515 booths under the supervision of 695 supervisors.
