The North East India Development Party, NEIDP has projected to win 13 seats out of 60 seats in the ensuing Manipur Legislative Assembly Election to be held on March 4 and 8.
NEIDP today gathered at Tera in Imphal West in a ceremony of reception and announcements of its candidates. Today 12 candidates who are contesting in the election on NEIDP ticket were announced out of 13 projected to field.
NEIDP president Narengbam Samarjit said the all the 13 candidates will win and his party will take part in forming the government when situation demands.
Samarjit said, “If the political parties are doing politics in the interest of the public why don’t they join the NEIDP.”
He said the mission of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Make in India followed by the state’s Make in Manipur and supported by all. “We need to develop our own ideology to promote development with the indigenous skill we have in the state and end up depending on other country’s product”, added Samarjit.
History proves that north east states cannot be separated and hence for the development of the region the NEIDP was formed, said Samarjit.
NEIDP was formed on December 23, 2015.
Among the candidates of NEIDP prominent political figures were former minister of state, home, agriculture, finance and education, Ashangbam Biren Singh contesting in 40-Jiribam assembly constituency and former MLA Doukhomang Khongsai of 46-Saikhul assembly constituency.
